The computers could see eachother - lights were flashing and files were transferring nice and quick., so thought it might be the cable. I tried plugging a crossover cable, from the new computer to my laptop which worked fine. I plug the ethernet patch lead in and it says the Network cable is unplugged. Its running Windows 7 (RC 7127) on an Asus M3N78-EM motherboard with an nForce network controller. On the top of the list should be an Intel Driver, select it and install. Now, on the top-right corner of the App Centre window there should be a download icon ⬇️ that will take you to a window called "Updates". It is not necessary for this to work, but do so if you wish. It will offer to install some utility software. After doing so, if it asks to run an update, accept. This is to make sure you have the oldest driver possible so the software we're installing detects you need an update.Īs a last step, download and install the App Center software from Gigabytes web page. Refesh the page ("look for changes.", the icon is a screen with a magnifying glass) and repeat a couple of times. Once rebooted, go to device manager and look for the ethernet device.
